Judaeo-Christian riddle

Page history last edited by Kaisiris Tallini 5 months ago

Riddle no Judaeo-Christian will be able to answer

Isaiah 44:5, New Living Translation:

Some will proudly claim, ‘I belong to the LORD.’

Others will say, ‘I am a descendant of Jacob.’

Some will write the LORD’s name on their hands

and will take the name of Israel as their own.”

 [called Christians today]

 [called Jews today]

 [what are these called?]

What are those who will take the name of Israel as their own called today?

A hint is in Revelation 3:12, New Living Translation:

All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God — the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name.

What is Jesus' "new name" (Revelation 3:12), and why is he also called "Israel" (Isaiah 44:5)?

Wasn't his full name either Yeshua HaNotzri [יֵשׁוּעַ הַנָּצְרִי], Iesous ho Nazoraios (Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος), or Jesus the Nazorean?
