Meditations on the Ethiopian Orthodox Deuterocanon

The scholar's chart below, shows seven reasons why 1 Enoch, or the Ethiopic Book of Enoch, probably belongs in every Bible, and shows why probably the Book of Jubilees also belongs in the Bible from a scholarly point of view:

The Book of 1 Enoch should absolutely not be confused with 2 Enoch, also known as the Slavonic Secrets of Enoch, or with 3 Enoch, also known as the Hebrew Book of Enoch.

The Wikipedia states that, "Classical rabbinic literature is characteri[s]ed by near silence concerning Enoch. It seems plausible that rabbinic polemics against Enochic texts and traditions might have led to the loss of these books to Rabbinic Judaism."

The Wikipedia also says that, "The Book of Enoch plays an important role in the history of Jewish mysticism [...] It is possible that the earlier sections of 1 Enoch had direct textual and content influence on many Biblical apocrypha, such as Jubilees, 2 Baruch, 2 Esdras, Apocalypse of Abraham and 2 Enoch".

It should also be noted that 2 Esdras (or 4 Ezra in the Vulgate), 1 Enoch, and Jubilees are all part of the Ethiopian Orthodox Deuterocanon. I have a decent text, defined as the Literal Standard Version (LSV) of all three, in addition to other apocrypha, through this volume:

The texts of 2 Enoch and 3 Enoch, can also be found in this volume:
